A wedding in Gaintza

Gaintza is a small village in Gipuzkoa, tucked up among the mountains. There was no booked venue here and no arrival time: there was the village, the field, and a family who put us up for three nights.

Ainhoa and Jeff married twice in two days. First came the traditional Ghanaian ceremony, from Jeff's side. The next day came the Basque one, in an open field with the mountains of the region cut out behind it.

From the ceremony they walked down to the village txoko to eat, and out of that came a party that never quite ended. It was one of those weddings where you connect so much with the couple that you stop feeling like the photographer.
