Can Vidal is a farmhouse in Subirats, up in the hills, surrounded by vineyards with Montserrat cut out against the sky behind it. It is ten minutes from Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and far enough from everything that no noise reaches it. There are several gardens: one that opens onto Montserrat, with a pool, and others where the only thing to do is sit down and switch off. And you can sleep there, which is what changes everything.

Paula and Diego found us by word of mouth, after Anna and Edu. They moved in for the whole weekend, and by the time Saturday came round the house was already theirs — you could see how calm they were. It matters for us too: when both of them get ready under the same roof you can cross from one to the other in a minute and come back, and nothing gets missed.

The ceremony and the cocktail hour happened in an open clearing among the trees, Montserrat on the horizon. Diego's brother and a friend opened the ceremony with a routine full of games and teasing. Eighty guests who liked eating and talking — and it showed: the cocktail hour in the garden stretched on through plates and laughter until the afternoon gave way.

If you are getting married there, two things: leave the portraits for the last hour of sun, in the upper garden, and stay the weekend if you can. Sleeping off the party in a place like that is part of the gift.
