Can Vidal is a farmhouse up in the hills, surrounded by vineyards with Montserrat cut out against the sky behind it. Paula and Diego moved in for the whole weekend, so by the time Saturday came round the house was already theirs.

The ceremony and the cocktail hour happened in an open clearing among the trees, Montserrat on the horizon and a swimming pool that looked like it had been put there on purpose. Eighty guests who liked eating and talking — and it showed: the cocktail hour stretched on through plates and laughter until the afternoon gave way.
